It’s official. The panoramic roof will not be an optional feature to the ultra-luxury premium sedan. Introduced this year, the new LS is set to compete with major high-end saloons such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Many of you may know already, the S-Class already has the available panoramic roof, allowing extra sunlight and a welcoming option for the rear passengers.
But why is this not an option on the new LS?

Exaggerated above, the panorama roof is a larger sunroof that stretches to the rear of the vehicle. Although some models such as the RX and the new ES from the Lexus line have this as an option, I was extremely surprised to hear that it is not available at all for the new LS.
Almost all of the new S-Class owners have optioned their sedans with this option, and I would too. So I did some researching and found that Lexus had a negative history with the panorama roof, beginning with their RX330’s. There had been many cases of leaks and rattles. But we live in the year of 2006, approaching 2007, and that option should be considered optional, considering that this is the sedan that will compete with major luxury vehicles, which almost always has a VIP sitting in the rear.
I will close my argument here. Feel free to comment your thoughts and opinions.
