First Kia Built in Europe Rolls Off Production Line

The first Kia to ever be made in Europe rolled off the production facility in Zilina, Slovakia today. The vehicle built was the new Kia C’eed, which was signed-off by all employees of the plant, including the VIP’s. Worth over 3-billion euros, the Zilina Plant will start production of the Kia Sportage and the Kia C’eed Wagon next summer and autumn. The 5-door Kia C’eed is going to go on sale in the UK starting in February of next year.

Are European Ford Vehicles Coming to the US?

Some rumors surfaced today in my inbox this morning. We all know that European Ford models are considered much better and superior to the ones introduced in the North Americas, and consumers keep demanding that Ford introduce these models available for the US. Reports say that Ford will start to introduce the European models in the Americas as soon as starting next year.

The report also stated that some models will include the European version of the Focus, the all-new Mondeo, the top-selling S-Max and Galaxy. One thing for sure is that the European Ford Focus will not be introduced here since a new generation will debut at the Detroit Auto Show.

We already saw a similar action taken by General Motors just yesterday. GM announced that it was going to add the Opel Astra from its European market and plan to make success here in the United States. But hey, who knows, you might see those European cars popping up anytime soon.

I haven’t added a lot of videos lately, so here is a short commercial of the new Audi TT gliding up and down the half-pipe like a skateboard for your entertainment. Watch it glide, watch it glide, watch it glide…

Wallpapers: 2007 Toyota Auris European Version

I think I’m in la-la-la-love with a Toyota. The new Auris from Toyota is actually quite stunning for a car its size. It sort of can be described as the European version of the Toyota Yaris. What I’m most excited about is its interior, it seems that European models get much better looking interiors than the North Americans do. Oh, well.

Rumor: New Freelander to be Another Range Rover?

An anonymous CarPhotoSite.com viewer has notified us that the newly launched Land Rover Freelander will ultimately be named another Range Rover to increase interest and sales. How about another name rather than ending with “er”? We’ll see if this rumor is true sometime later next year. The anonymous tipster also tells us that brand changes are not limited to just the Freelander model due to the number of luxury vehicles which are present today.

Spy Shots: New CR-V and Stream Crossover and New Acura NSX?

Here are some renderings of a new crossover from the CR-V and the Stream and the next generation of the NSX from a Japanese magazine article I read over at VTEC.net!

The article claims that the new CR-V and Stream crossover will be able to seat 7 passengers and come smaller than the current CR-V, which is similar to the Mazda 5. The power will come from the Stream’s current specifications. As well, the new Acura NSX will have a 4.5-liter V10 engine and is expected to reach up to 550 horsepowers! The design will be based off of British GT’s, rather than the Italian Ferrari’s.

You should read the source for more details and there’s additional photos if you keep reading.

Lexus IS-F Teaser Image from Lexus a Photoshop Job?

Hahaha, I thought this was interesting. I was reading a post over at CarSpyShots and someone had pointed out that the picture could be photoshopped. I’m thinking that person is right. The rendering at the top of the exhaust seems strange for some reason. Just for your information, the photo came straight from the Toyota pressroom and I did not do anything with the photo. Anyways, this is just a small observation from me and may not be true. Good night and sleep tight.

Buick Says, “Ouch!”

There’s nothing David Letterman won’t do. This time, David Letterman dropped a 300-pound safe on a poor old Buick rental car for his late night television show. The 300 lbs safe box was dropped from the Ed Sullivan Theatre building in New York. I’m surprised that it actually landed on the car.

Anyways, check out the video for yourself. The video is courtesy of CBS.

NAIAS Preview: Lexus IS-F

Ever wonder what’s missing from Lexus to compete with BMW’s M and Mercedes-Benz AMG performance lines? Well, Lexus is going to fill that gap, with the “F”-line, which we think stands for “Fast”. Lexus will introduce its first “F” vehicle at the North American International Auto Show in January next year.

For now, Lexus has given us a preview of the 2008 Lexus IS-F. Yeah, we love that dual-exhaust design… not. Guess I’ll need more photos to make me convinced.

Anyways, continue reading for one additional photo and the press release.
