After several reports that the new Cooper S could be delayed, it appears that it was true all along. CarNewsSite reader Janson pointed out to us that the new Cooper S produced at the Oxford plant will, in fact, be delayed due to leaking fuel pumps on the S models with about 3,000 vehicles affected. Since the plant is closed for the holiday break, there will be a delay until the problem is attacked. Mm, delays are fun, but leaking fuel pumps are fun too.

Mini announced a new trim for the Mini Convertibles today called the “Sidewalk” trim, which will debut officially at the NAIAS. The Sidewalk trim is to provide new design enhancements, including a choice of four new paint colors, Malt Brown English leather upholstery, 17-inch wheels, bi-color leather steering wheel and shift knob, as well as the Sidewalk brand inside the cabin. Enjoy this video of a series of commercials for the Mini Cooper. Like I said before in my posts, I’m not a huge fan of small compact cars, but I guess this would go in my books of “cool-factor”. However, I wish it was a bit more aggressive, I’m guessing the circular headlights don’t really do much to improve the masculinity factor.
Anyways, enjoy this video. I liked the last bit the best.

Okay. After much controversy in the World’s Most Beautiful Automobiles post, I must first say that I did not create that list. I repeat, did not. That list was messed up anyways. So I have created my own little list for those who care to listen.
The list contains vehicles that you can find on the dealer lots today, not vehicles that are about to be introduced, so not to cause any controversy.

It appears that Winding Road has posted what seems to be the pricing of the new Mini Coopers. There is a $700 increase on the current Cooper model, while there is a $400 increase on the Cooper S. Stay tuned for a press release.
