yeah, I was hoping for that as well, it’s too bad, it could’ve competed with like Audi A6 or A8
I’m surprised this thing has a center console that reaches to the end, kinda like the CLS. but driving this big machine in a highly populated city would be kinda of a hassle
Hahaha. Everyone wants it to come to the North Americas. I think it’s been the discussion in every American car forum I’ve been surfing on today.
Too bad we only carry the bad stuff, not the good.
I have a 2005 STS and love it. while I like the SLS’s longer body..I’m glad mine is the size that it is. The Interior though in this SLS is superb. We should be able to get both versions, and GM is foolish for not offering them here as well. I think the problem is that in China they are able to produce them so much cheaper than they can in the U.S. This allows for added amenities in both Cadillac and Buick lines. If Cadillac would go ahead and produce the SIXTEEN type vehicle..they could import this or produce this (SLS) and raise the price to accomodate the added expense of selling it here. The SIXTEEN type vehicle would add to Cadillacs prestige factor, thus allowing for the price hike.

I actually think GM is smart for not bringing this here. Because what if it doesn’t do well in the long-term, it could end up like other GM vehicles.
I’m pretty sure Cadillac is doing better in China since Asian consumers want American cars, while American consumers want Asian cars.
Just my .02
Wow, almost 1000 views. I’m guessing this is the most popular post this weekend.
From dash to door panel, that interior is significantly better than the American STS. Maybe GM will quitely introduce it on next year’s model. They fixed the SRX’s interior, the new CTS will be incredible, it would be a shame to neglect the STS.
This interior is coming to the US STS soon – and check out the new CTS. Cadillac is back.
I want one. I do not care that it is made for the Chinese market. I had a 03 DeVille – and went to an 07 ESV – but a true 4 passenger STS for trip is really what I would like. The DeVille/DTS has (IMO) the best rear seat currently – better than the ESV. The ESV is nice in the back seat middle row – and pathetic in the third row. Basically all I have gained is more storage space and driving height (not to mention almost half of the mpg…..). Anyway – this appears to be the cat’s meow, and I applaud GM for finally listening to their customers. Now, how about listening to their customers in the US? The ones that would love to buy this product?
If GM wants to prove Cadillac can take on Mercedes and BMW in the U.S., they must introduce this car here. Otherwise, buyers will continue to notice the difference in quality between the interior of Cadillac and the German makes and go for the latter. The remodel of the US STS is beautiful, but the level of finishes decreased significantly from the earlier STS and SLS. No one wants a luxury car with plastic surrounding the driver. Once they introduce this to the States, I’m trading my ’01 SLS–that I love–in for one of these babies.
