Planet 4×4 magazine states that Land Rover has the best off-roaders this month, with the Discovery 3, the Range Rover, and the Range Rover Sport. Other competing vehicles included models from Audi, Nissan, Lexus, and BMW. So if you’re a serious off-roader, then this news is pretty golden to you.

New Audi Q5 renderings from AutoBild. A baby Q7, the Audi Q5 is set to compete with new crossover SUV’s like the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class and the BMW X6, which are set to debut sometime next year. The Q5 will borrow its styling cues from the Q7, including the large wheel arches, short overhangs, and more. We’ll also see a cheaper alternative to the Q5, which is the new Tiguan from Volkswagen.

Looks like the person in charge of research and development for Honda vehicles, Hirohide Ikeno, says that he is voting and pushing for the appearance of a V8 onto the Acura lineup. However, only Acura vehicles will get this upgrade if it comes, as Honda will still retain the efficient V6’s. Many top-of-the-line brands including Mercedes-Benz and BMW have already been fitted with powerful V8 engines.
Acura is often criticized by many car enthusiasts for the lack of a V8 option in their lineup. If the idea is introduced and gets the green light, we will most likely see the V8 be fitted on the Acura RL, which is pictured above, to compete with the V8 Lexus GS. The next generation of the super NSX car is expected to come with a V10 engine.

Researchers from DaimlerChrysler are using simulations to determine in advance the location and size of pockets of air enclosed during immersion of a body-in-white. As well as facilitating early planning, these calculations help optimize painting processes and cut costs. Exciting news, huh?

Yeehee. Here are fresh images of the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer, set to debut next year at the Detroit auto show. The Lancer will come with a 152-horsepower 2.0-Liter 4-cylinder engine, which has a 5-speed manual transmission. There will be 3 trim levels offered: the DE, ES and the GTS.
It looks okay, I guess, but I wish it was more like the Concept-X. I’m not liking the rear end, I guess it’s due to the fact that it squeezes the taillights. Anyways, continue reading for all the pictures.

So we all know that Top Gear, a UK motoring television show, comes up with all sorts of neat ideas to add entertainment to their car reviews. I was surfing YouTube the other day and found two videos that really caught my attention.
Apparently Top Gear played soccer and ice hockey using vehicles! For the soccer match, they used the Volkswagen Fox and the Toyota Aygo, and for the ice hockey session, they played using the Suzuki SX4, which we know has all-wheel drive capability. It was extremely fun to watch, and funny, I must say. I’m just surprised and glad that no one got badly injured during the games.

So this is the most stupidest thing I’ve ever seen. Gigi Becali, owner of the Romanian football club, tried to open the door on his Maybach 62 after it was stuck with a couple of handy-dandy crowbars. He just kept trying, trying, and trying. It’s funny what anger can do to you. But hey, when you have lots of money, who cares what you do anymore.

Ford gave us a preview of the new C-Max at this year’s Bologna Motor Show. The C-Max no longer is a Focus and gets a new refreshed look, including LED taillights with HID front lamps. Inside, the C-Max also gets a new refresh, with new interior colors. One of the things I noticed is that the C-Max looks a lot like the Mazda 5, except a bit less attractive.

Volkswagen has recalled approximately a total of 62,000 Passat sedans and wagons. The 2006 models have a wiper motor that could fail during a heavy rainfall due to excessive moisture building up in the wiper motor, which would cause a serious visibility issue. The other issue involves some 2.0T models which have a power brake vacuum line which may fracture and disconnect at low temperatures. When this happens, the braking power assist will be inoperable.
If your Passat has been affected by any of these recalls, you will be notified starting in January, 2007. Continue reading for the full scoop of the recall.
