The new James Bond, Daniel Craig, might be good at driving that Aston Martin in Casino Royale, but it seems that he’s having a bit of trouble parking his brand new Cadillac Escalade he recently bought, which is one of the biggest 4X4 SUV’s in America. Neighbors said that the British celebrity had left his wheels at crazy angles and bumped up on the pavement. Action heroes are actually human beings after all.

If you’ve heard recently, there was a drop in oil prices around the world, although this may seem good news, it sure isn’t looking as good for fuel-efficient vehicles such as hybrids. The recent oil drop have left American motorists be less concerned about saving the world and buying more fuel-efficient vehicles. Toyota even started to offer incentives and discounts on some electric-hybrid models including the Prius for the first time. Starting this month, Prius buyers in the United States can get 0% financing for two years or lease payments from $219 a month. Other manufacturers have also started to give discounts on its hybrid vehicles including the Honda Accord, the Ford Escape, and the Mercury Mariner Hybrid.
MotorWeek, a popular automotive publication and television show, has just nominated the Hyundai Entourage as the ‘Best Minivan’ in the 2007 Editor’s Choice Awards. As a result, the Entourage’s cousin, the Kia Sedona, has also won the award. Both Hyundai and Kia vehicles have improved in quality and provides many features. Already winning NTHSA’s Top Safety Pick award, it’s no doubt the Entourage will continue to win many more.
The 25th annual MotorWeek Driver’s Choice Award winners were chosen by evaluations made by 15 judges, which were composed of writers, producers, and the crew members of MotorWeek. Over 150 cars and trucks were tested and judged.

Hi! Haha, I was surfing on YouTube and saw this commercial once again and I completely melted. I rate this commercial a thousand stars and yes, I must reach the unreachable stars.

Since the new Pontiac G8, which is based off the European Holden Commodore SS-V, will be introduced tomorrow at the Chicago Auto Show, I thought it would be nice to add some wallpapers to the database. And for information purposes, the new G8 will be packed with a 6.0L V8 with 362 horsepowers. If you like it, the new G8 will arrive in showrooms by early 2008. Those 20-inch wheels look lovely as well.
I guess this won’t be such a surprise as I found leaked images of the new Scion xD and xB on Car and Driver while I was surfing the automotive forums. Way to spoil the surprise, I guess Car and Driver can’t really be trusted after all. Anyways, back to the Scions. The new xD will replace the xA model. Styling on both of these new vehicles are a bit controversial perhaps, but you can’t argue with the futuristic characteristics hidden behind the designs. The xD will receive the Toyota Matrix/Corolla engine, which boasts 128-hp and is available with either a 4-speed or 5-speed automatic transmission. The xB, which looks to be borrow design from the Urban Cruiser concept Toyota released, will be more powerful, sharing the 158-horsepower 4-cylinder engine from the Scion tC. But yeah, will these vehicles really save Scion after they announced dropping sales in previous years? We’ll see. My guess is that they probably won’t climb back up.
Below is the image of the new Scion xB.

Deliveries to the early orders will start from March 1rst, which is the official sale date. And for pricing, the base Civic Type R costs ?17,600, while the GT model is priced starting at ?18,600. Want to know what’s the quickest cars at the best price? Car and Driver has just released a list of the fastest cars from $20,000 to $25,000 so if you gotta have performance without paying the hefty price tag, maybe you should consider the cars you see on this list next time you go car-shopping.
Here’s the complete list by rank:
9.) 2007 Pontiac G6 GT 3.9, 2007 Saturn Aura XR
8.) 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged
7.) 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT
6.) 2007 Volkswagen GTI
5.) 2007 Saturn Ion Red Line
4.) 2007 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE
3.) 2007 Mazdaspeed 3
2.) 2007 Toyota Camry V6
1.) 2007 Subaru Impreza WRX
The winner is the Subaru Impreza WRX, indeed, it shows that performance can be affordable. Surprisingly enough, the Camry made the list. Can a family sedan really be a performance notable?
The redesigned 2001 model of the BMW 7-Series were the first to feature a 6-speed automatic transmission. A few years later, Mercedes-Benz released their newest S-Class with the more economical 7-speed automatic transmission, which was set as a technological standard. Now, Lexus is offering a whopping 8-speed transmission on the new LS and apparently, by reports made by Automotive News, the new redesigned 7-Series will up the standard by offering a 8-speed transmission as well. Hmm, how ironic. The next 7-series should arrive near 2009 or 2010, so maybe by then we will find a 9-speed transmission on the 7? Maybe, just maybe.

I fall in love with a Lexus commercial whenever I see one. I mean, seriously, you have no idea how inspirational they are and they make me want to buy a Lexus in the future so bad. I think you’ll know what I’m talking about when you see this commercial. Just for those who can’t understand the Spanish, using my small Spanish skills, they say:
“The pursuit of control…”
“The pursuit of potential…”
“The pursuit of emotion…”
“The pursuit of perfection.”
GOOSEBUMPS? Yes. Oh, the music, the words, the drama. It’s beautiful.
Update: Thanks Will for the translations.
Images of the new Dodge Dakota’s from the Chrysler Group have surfaced onto the internet, maybe a bit earlier than expected. The new Dakota will sport a fresh look inside and out. If you’re big fans of boxy cars, then the new Dakota should be right along your list, with a new edged off crosshair grill like found in most of Dodge’s new line-up. Under the hood, the base engine is a 3.7-Liter V6 which outputs 210-horsepowers. Also optional is a 4.7-Liter FlexFuel V8 which has the ability to output more than 290-horsepower. Want to tow? No worries, the new Dakota has a maximum towing capacity of up to 7,000 pounds!
And according to Kicking Tires, the new Dakota will feature a standard remote starter. Yes, standard. Who really likes Dodge trucks now anyways? The new redesign seems to not symbolize any change to the Dodge brand and still has that plastic, cheap feel just by looking at photos, imagine what consumers will feel when they step into one. However, the good news is that the price should be “Dodge-priced”, meaning that it will be mostly affordable, but then, I could buy a new, more popular Ford F-Series for the same price rather than a Dodge.
And is it enough to compete with the new Tundra as well as the award-winning Silverado? I think not.

Saturn will unveil the new Saturn Astra, which is rebadged from the Opel line-up in Europe, to replace the current ION sedan. The Saturn Astra will be available as a 3-door model or a 5-door model. The Astra will have 140-horsepowers under the hood, which is powered by a 1.8-Liter Ecotec 4-cylinder engine available in either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The Astra looks the same as the Opel counterpart inside and out, which isn’t so bad since the Astra hasn’t been subject to criticism in terms of appearance. Available options include a two-panel sunroof available on the 5-door model, heated cloth or leather seats, and six airbags are standard. If you’re interested, check out the complete high-resolution gallery.
Update: Added the press release from GM.
CNN released a list of the top 10 cars worth waiting for in 2007. Together with Kelley Blue Book’s Jack Nerad and Edmund’s Karl Brauer, the list contains the top 10 most anticipated redesigned cars that would make you hold those other purchases until you’ve had a chance to check out these cars.
1.) Mid-Size Sedan: Chevrolet Malibu
2.) Large Luxury Crossover: Buick Enclave
3.) Full-Sized Truck: Toyota Tundra
4.) Small Luxury SUV: Land Rover LR2
5.) Entry Luxury Sedan: Cadillac CTS
6.) Large Luxury Sedan: Lexus LS600hL
7.) Compact Car: Mitsubishi Lancer
8.) Luxury Convertible: BMW 3-Series Convertible
9.) Entry Luxury Sedan: Mercedes-Benz C-Class
10.) Hybrid Sedan: Nissan Altima Hybrid
It’s no surprise that many of General Motor’s vehicles made the list, such as the Cadillac CTS as well as the Buick Enclave. However, the debate that remains is whether or not these cars are really worth waiting for. As far as we’re concerned, these cars will not only help the sales of its brand, but as well, it will definitely step up the game and set the bar high in its category.
Congratulations to Katie Crabb of North Prairie. Katie came up with the idea for the ad as a part of a class project in the University of Wisconsin. If you didn’t know, the competition focused on college students and the requirements for the ad was to focus on one of Chevrolet’s cars and crossovers targeted at the youth market including the Aveo, Cobalt, HHR, or Equinox. The 30 second commercial was directed by Bryan Buckley and was produced by Chevrolet and Campbell-Ewald.
The commercial is subtitled “Car Wash” and it’s pretty funny. You should like it too.
